Polish President Andrey Duda is in Cairo for a three-day visit. He was received by Egyptian President Abel Fattah El-Sissi and the two leaders had extended talks on a wide range of issues including strengthening of economic and scientific cooperation. They also discussed the next UN summit on Climate scheduled in November in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Cheikh

Polish President Andrey Duda is in Cairo for a three-day visit. He was received by Egyptian President Abel Fattah El-Sissi and the two leaders had extended talks on a wide range of issues including strengthening economic and scientific cooperation. They also discussed the next UN summit on Climate scheduled in November in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Cheikh. Poland had hosted the summit three previous times.

President Abel Fattah El-Sissi extended an invitation to the Polish side to participate on a high level at the (COP27) climate change summit. The Polish head of state also explained how Poland could export crops to Egypt. Egypt buys around 60% of its wheat from Ukraine and Russia.  Because of the continued war, it is forced to diversify its sources of supply. The Polish strong man also backed EU negotiations with Egypt to fill the gap in gas supply. He said that Egypt is a potential  future partner and supported the negotiations taking place between Egypt and the European Union to export liquefied gas from Egypt to the EU.”

The EU is trying to source energy requirements from hydrocarbon producers in Africa, such as Nigeria and Algeria to source their fuel requirements. Poland resumed direct flights of the national airline between Cairo and Warsaw on 31 May.
