- The B2B e-commerce platform by DP World has been successful in bringing high-quality Rwandan coffee closer to consumers in the UAE and the Gulf region.
Rwanda Development Board signed an MoU with DP World to launch Dubuy.com to link B2B and end-to-end destinations from Kigali to UAE more than two years back. As of January 2023, about 100 registered Rwandan sellers including 20 top Rwandan Coffee sellers in Dubuy, are selling their products. The B2B e-commerce platform by DP World has been successful in bringing high-quality Rwandan coffee closer to consumers in the UAE and the Gulf region.
Rwandan Coffee received excellent appreciation at the Coffee Cupping and Testing event in Dubai, during the World Coffee Exhibition that took place in Dubai from January 11 to 13, this year.
Speaking at the occasion, Rwanda’s Ambassador to the UAE, Emmanuel Hategeka, said that Coffee played a significant role in Rwanda’s economic growth as the leading traditional agricultural export fetching annual revenues of over $75 million and supporting more than 355,000 smallholder families for their daily livelihoods. He added that UAE and GCC region as major coffee consumers held the immense market potential for Rwandan coffee. UAE is also a major trade hub and Rwanda’s leading trade partner. Dubuy, in collaboration with DP World as well as RwandAir has started direct cargo flights to Dubai facilitating the two-way trade flows between Rwanda and UAE, he said.

In the fiscal year 2021-2022 , Rwanda exported over 15 million kilogrammes of Coffee, generating over US $75.5 million recording about 23 per cent growth in revenues compared to the previous year.
