The South African government said that it is planned to generate nuclear power, if there is demand for energy in the market. The government wants to gauge the peoples’ responses before taking a decision to go for nuclear power.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy of South Africa, the nodal ministry for taking policy decisions on the matter, is giving embers of the public a month’ time to respond to its request for information for a 2500 MW nuclear project.
