The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) announced a total crude oil and gas export earnings of US$378.42 million for June as against crude oil earnings of US$133.16 million in May.
NNPC said the amount was an improvement in revenue earnings and is mainly due to relaxation of the COVID-19 lockdown across the world. This has increased demand and provided firmer prices for crude oil in the international market. Crude oil earnings stood at US$230.65million, with gas and miscellaneous proceeds touching at US$75.97million and US$71.80million respectively.
The total crude oil and gas export earnings for June 2019 to June 2020 was at US$4.60 billion. On petroleum products supply in the downstream sector, NNPC said 1.34 billion litres of the products were distributed and sold across the country by the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), its downstream subsidiary.
