This advisory of the President of NAPE, Dr. James Edet, came close on the heels of the gas fire outbreak at Caritas University, Amorji-Nike, Enugu State last week. The varsity, which engaged the services of borehole drillers had struck a gas bed without noticing it, causing a major leakage of natural gas.

Dr. James Edet advised the public to exercise caution as they visit the site to avoid burns and other hazards associated with the flare. NAPE would require access to more data to ascertain the source of the leak. The group issued some safety alerts for the public to avert further crisis., Edet said since the source of the leak was yet to be established, the potential of the fire getting bigger remained a possibility.
