The Executive Director and CEO of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) Dr. Ezra Yakusak, has laid emphasis on the significance of fiscal incentives in boosting exports from the country. Incentive schemes such as Export Development Fund (EDF), among others, could catalyze exports particularly from the MSMEs. He also suggested developing schemes like the Export Expansion Grant (EEG) scheme, to help the exporting community.

Dr. Ezra Yakusak, was talking to a delegation of  Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Export Group (MANEG) led by its Chairman, Ede Dafinone, in Abuja. Emphasizing on the creative and entertainment industry particularly music and movies, he said these would help build the image of the country on the international scene.

The visiting delegation of manufacturers called Dr. Ezra to help them in streamlining the EEG payment process to make them fast and to the required quantum. Delay in disbursement of these funds, would cause hiccups in the export efforts. Nigeria is laying emphasis on promoting non-oil exports from the country, particularly value added manufacturing items. Emergence of AfCFTA provides a lot of opportunities to the Nigerian entrepreneurs, particularly MSMEs to export to other African countries and beyond. Nigeria is the most industrialized country in the continent.
