Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said his country
is the best investment destination in Africa at the Paris Peace Forum in France and urged French investors to invest in the country. He added that Africa holds the best frontier for development globally with the continent providing the highest yield from investments.
Godwin Emefiele exhorted the world investors to invest in Africa, particularly Nigeria since it is the largest economy and most populated country in Africa. Also, by 2050, Nigeria will have the third largest population after China and India opening up enormous opportunities in different economic domains. Also, the country has the advantages of
economic sustainability and high potential for growth.
Explaining the reasons underlying high expected growth for the continent and specifically for Nigeria, the minister said that oil prices have been ruling above US$ 80 per barrel. Nigeria, he added, continued to take seriously implementation of the economic sustainability plan which was put in place during the period of the pandemic. The manufacturing activities are also pitched up giving a critical push to economic activities in the country.
