In the town of Ngong, northern Cameroon, peanuts are more than just a crop, they are a regional economic driver. With up to 180,000 tons produced annually, this flagship product supplies local markets and neighboring countries such as Nigeria and Chad.

However, due to a lack of mechanisation and effective support, a large portion of production escapes the formal economy. A massive agricultural opportunity that remains undervalued.

Peanuts are a staple food and cultural component in Cameroon, used in various traditional dishes.  Inadequate post-harvest technologies and practices can lead to contamination and reduce the value of the crop. Efforts are underway to assess soil fertility and improve farming practices to enhance productivity.
