After finding small pieces of glass in quality and safety checks in some batches of Kit Kat chocolates, Nestle, one of the largest food and beverage companies globally, has decided to recall the product from South Africa. The company fears that some of its Kit Kat bars supplied to South Africa may contain pieces of glass. Kit Kat Mini Bag Milk 32 by 200 grams and the Kit Kat Two Finger Milk bar 36 by 20 grams are the products in the batch that have been affected. Both these products have September 30th and October this year the best before dates.

The company in a statement said that though it has not so far received reports of injuries, the voluntary step is being taken as a precautionary measure. Those who had purchased the listed batches have been advised to return them with due refund and not consume them. If anyone has consumed one of the listed products, they have been advised to seek medical advice.

Nestlé also ensured that it is investigating the lapse and assured that quality checks will be strengthened to avoid such incidents in future.
