Businesses, particularly the small scale ones in Namibia are
complaining about sharp dip in sales, which they apprehend would
continue for sometimes. They visualize scenarios of business impact if
the pandemic spreads and takes a longer time for eradication.

Major impact seems to be in the healthcare front.  Many fear that
buying medicines will be a problem since pharmacies refuse to sell the
medicines to the government servants since they feel that the
government would not reimburse the expenses to the pharmacies. In the
normal situation the country faces shortage of essential medicines.

To give credit to the government, Namibia has taken several measures
for containing corornavirus like most of the African countries. But
its continued spending on public healthcare very much depends on the
help it receives from other countries and multilateral organizations.
The country has shut down buildings like the National Gallery and
libraries in a bid to prevent social gatherings. These institutions
will remain closed till April 14 as a preventive step for not allowing
people to come into contact with each other.
