Announcing the official opening of the MoMo API, Mitwa Ng’ambi the Chief Executive commented that her company is committed to supporting digital for a brighter Rwanda. API platforms functions as interfaces for managing payments and facilitating e-Commerce sites and platforms to process payments for goods and services, track orders and maintain customers’ lists. under the earlier system, developers had to come physically to MTN and undergo a lengthy integration process. The introduction of the new online system provides an option for developers to test their products to go-live using an API sandbox available free on the website. The MoMo API will give the opportunity to innovators to monetize their products and stimulate the growth of the MoMo ecosystem in the country.
