MTN Group has added a net 1.1 million new subscribers in Nigeria, taking its total active user base to 76.7 million during the quarter ended March 2023. The rollout of improved communications infrastructure brought an additional 170 5G sites in the country, according to company sources.
The number of data users of MTN grew by 14.7 per cent, taking the total number of subscribers to 41.2 million. During the quarter the capacity and coverage of our 4G and 5G networks was increased, which supported rising data traffic. The total data usage traffic jumped 50.3 per cent in the quarter.

MTN’s revenue increased by 20.6 percent to N568.136b for the first three months of operation this year as against the N470.98 recorded in the corresponding period of 2022.
