MozParks is tasked with establishing 20 parks nationwide, aiming to create at least one park in each province.
Mozambique’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Silvino Moreno, visited MozParks earlier this week, where he met with Chairman Adrian Frey and General Director Onorio Manuel. The discussions centred on MozParks’ pivotal role in driving Mozambique’s industrial growth and future expansion plans.
MozParks is tasked with establishing 20 parks nationwide, aiming to create at least one park in each province. To date, MozParks developed and now operates two key sites. Mozal-Beluluane Industrial Park in Maputo province generates 10,000 jobs and sustains 100,000 livelihoods. The other one, Kenmare-Topuito Industrial Park in Nampula province supports 2,500 jobs and 25,000 lives. Each future park aims to replicate this model, with the goal of impacting 100,000 people per park.
The meeting also spotlighted the upcoming Cabo Delgado Parks Initiative, a network of six parks across Balama, Montepuez, Palma, Ancuabe, Mocimboa da Praia, and a logistics base in Pemba. This network is set to contribute significantly to the development of Mozambique’s northern province of Cabo Delgado, supporting economic resilience and job creation.
