Mozambique’s participation in this Summit reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the founding values of the CPLP and its determination to actively contribute to strengthening solidarity, shared development, and the integration of Portuguese-speaking peoples.
Mozambique’s President Daniel Chapo visited Guinea-Bissau to attend the 15th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), in the city of Bissau. The Summit brought together the highest-ranking representatives of the CPLP member states and was held under the theme “The CPLP and Food Sovereignty: A Path to Sustainable Development”. The summit aimed to strengthen multilateral cooperation and agree on common strategies to promote food security and sustainable development in the community countries.
Mozambique’s participation in this Summit reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the founding values of the CPLP and its determination to actively contribute to strengthening solidarity, shared development, and the integration of Portuguese-speaking peoples.
In addition to the CPLP member countries, which include Mozambique, Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, Timor-Leste, and Equatorial Guinea, the 15th Summit also featured the participation of several countries and international organizations.
President Chapo also met with Mozambicans residing in the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, and informed them of the government’s actions to boost the national economy.
