The contribution of concessions to total state revenue in this period was 1.6%, compared to 1.3% in 2022, when it totalled just over 3.768 billion meticais (€54.5 million), according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance report on the Economic and Social Balance of the State Budget from January to December.
Mozambique state revenues from concessions increased by 40.1% in 2023, compared to the previous year, to more than 5.279 billion meticais (€76.5 million), according to official data.

In this revenue from concessions, Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa, with almost 2.324 billion meticais (€33.6 million), a year-on-year increase of 37.8%, and the Port of Maputo, with more than 1.265 billion meticais (€18.3 million), an increase of 53.1%, contributed 44.0% and 24.0% of the total, respectively. Overall, the total current revenue of the Mozambique state last year grew by 14.2%, to almost 326.258 billion meticais (€4.727 billion).
