Mozambique’s Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, said recently that national companies’ commitment to the manufacturing industry has contributed to reducing imports, recognizing the “resilience” of the country’s factories
The increase in production, and greater use of domestic raw materials, are contributing to the reduction of imports, and the creation of more jobs and income for the Mozambican population, especially young people and women, Prime Minister Maleiane said.
The prime minister was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 59th Maputo International Fair (FACIM), the largest exhibition of goods and services in Mozambique. The quality and diversity of the services and goods exhibited in this edition of FACIM demonstrate that we are on the right path towards the industrialization of our country,” he declared.

The Mozambican prime minister acknowledged the resilience, entrepreneurship, innovation and efforts of national businesses to invest in increasing production and productivity, as well as in the diversification of locally produced services and goods.

FACIM was attended by 26 countries and sported 3,300 exhibitors, including 2,300 Mozambican companies and 750 foreign companies, according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, which is promoting the exhibition. It is estimated that around 65,000 people visited the fair.
