Albasini, CEO of the Standardization Institute highlighted that, three years ago, only half the products sold in Mozambican supermarkets had information in Portuguese, leaving consumers unaware of the actual contents of the goods they were buying.
At least 70% of products sold in supermarkets in Mozambique have labeling in Portuguese. This is because there is a ban on importing and selling goods without information in the official language, the National Institute of Standardization and Quality (INOQ) has stated.
