The transit through South Africa of poultry meat, plumes and feathers, fertile and consumer, eggs, and other products used for animal feed or agricultural or industrial purposes from other countries must however be authorized by the Mozambican veterinary authority, with the issuance of a respective import license.

The ban on the import of poultry products from South Africa has been lifted by Mozambique since the neighboring country has not recorded new episodes of avian influenza (AI) recently.
