·        Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi, extended by a month the
state of emergency ordered on April 1 to contain the spread of
Covid-19.

·        Infections in the southern African country have now risen to
76. The major affected area is Total’‘s LNG project site in northern
Mozambique, contributing 3/4th of reported cases of the infection.

emergency ordered on April 1 to contain the spread of Covid-19.  The
movement of people within the country will continue to be restricted.
Schools will continue to remain shut.  Foreigners are barred to enter
the country.

Infections in the southern African country have now risen to 76. The
major affected area is Total’‘s LNG project site in northern
Mozambique, contributing 3/4th of reported cases of the infection.

Total has a huge business interest in Mozambique and owns a US
$25-billion stake in a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in the Cabo
Delgado province, near the border with Tanzania.
