Mozambique exports over 1000 tons of fish to SADC

·        Over 1,000 tons of fish of various species were exported to Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries from the Cahora Bassa Reservoir in Tete province  of Mozambique in the first half of this year

·        Exports were undertaken by 460 fish farmers working in districts adjacent to the reservoir

·         In addition, during the same period, they supplied the Mozambican domestic market 1,300 tons of fish of various categories

 

Over 1,000 tons of fish of various species were exported to Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries from the Cahora Bassa Reservoir in Tete province  of Mozambique in the first half of this year.

Exports were undertaken by 460 fish farmers working in districts adjacent to the reservoir. In addition, during the same period, they supplied the Mozambican domestic market 1,300 tons of fish of various categories.

The province of Tete, Domingos Viola,  is gearing up to continue  promoting  fishing and fish-farming as a major source of livelihood for the people.
