· Morocco’s trade deficit dropped by 18.2%, to nearly MAD 100.08 billion ($10.9 billion), as of July 2020, as revealed by the Moroccan Foreign Exchange Office.
· There was a drop in the case of both import and exports. Imports dropped from 17.5% to MAD 240.08 billion (US$26.1 billion), and exports from 17% to MAD 140 billion (US$15.2 billion), compared to the same period in the previous year
Morocco’s trade deficit dropped by 18.2%, to nearly MAD 100.08 billion ($10.9 billion), as of July 2020, as revealed by the Moroccan Foreign Exchange Office.
There was a drop in the case of both import and exports. Imports dropped from 17.5% to MAD 240.08 billion (US$26.1 billion), and exports from 17% to MAD 140 billion (US$15.2 billion), compared to the same period in the previous year. In percentage terms, imports declined by 14%and 1.5% for exports.
Imports of all goods, particularly consumer products, finished goods, energy products, semi-finished products. However, the import of food material increased by MAD6.6 billion (US$ 718.5 million). Exports of almost all good were affected including automobile, textiles and leather, aeronautics, agriculture and agri-food, phosphates and other mining extractions.
