Morocco has been ranked 96th out of 152 countries in terms of fixed broadband internet speed, according to the latest Speedtest Global Index report published by Ookla. The study, which reflects data collected from April to June 2025, reveals that Moroccan users experienced an average download speed of 61.43 megabits per second (Mbps) on fixed-line internet services such as ADSL and fiber optic connections.
This figure falls significantly below the global average of 103 Mbps for the same period, highlighting a notable digital performance gap between Morocco and more technologically advanced nations. The disparity is especially pronounced when compared to top-ranking countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates, where average fixed broadband speeds have soared beyond 200 Mbps, setting the global benchmark for high-speed connectivity. Egypt tops the list from the continent with its 69th position.
