- Morocco’s Agency for Energy Efficiency and Senegalese National Agency for Renewable Energy signed a cooperation agreement on March 16, in Rabat to support Senegal to achieve energy efficiency and adopt renewable energy.
Morocco’s Agency for Energy Efficiency and Senegalese National Agency for Renewable Energy signed a cooperation agreement on March 16, in Rabat to support Senegal for energy efficiency and the adoption of renewable energy. The MOU is part of a three-party collaboration between Morocco’s Agency for Energy Efficiency, Senegalese National Agency for Renewable Energy, and the Andalusia Agency for International Development and Cooperation. The MOU was signed by Morocco’s Energy Efficiency Agency Director Said Melin, and his Senegalese counterpart, Djabi Niday, in the presence of the Andalusia Agency for International Development and Collaboration.
The Moroccan agency will undertake technical studies based on the data provided by the Senegal Agency while the Andalusia agency will oversee and coordinate efforts between the two parties and ensure financing the procedure.

Another MOU namely “Supporting the Adoption of Renewable Energy in The North of Morocco” was also signed between the two countries to facilitate training for Senegalese officials on energy efficiency by Morocco’s Energy Efficiency Agency. Morocco’s Energy Efficiency Agency will also support Senegal to launch successful renewable energy ventures.
