Maroc Telecom, the leading telecommunication company of Morocco, co-owned by Etisalat and Moroccan Government has announced its plans to invest 10 billion dirhams over the next three years (2019 – 2021) to promote telecommunications in Morocco. In a statement issued by the company, it revealed that it has signed the sixth investment agreement with the Moroccan Government for the development of telecommunications. , Maroc Telecom’s investment under the previous agreements amounted to more than MAD 58 billion. After the newagreement the total volume of its investments will cross MAD 68 billion, the company reported. The program is expected to enhance the telecommunications infrastructure, offer high-speed fixed and mobile broadband and also generate local employment. The investment reconfirms Maroc Telecom’s position as a leading investor at the national level. Morocco has witnessed a growing demand for high-speed broadband and new technologies.
