Between January and April 2025, Morocco welcomed an impressive 5.7 million international tourists, representing a significant 23% increase compared to the same four-month period in 2024. This surge, highlighted in a report by the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, marks a strong rebound and continued growth in the country’s tourism sector.
According to the ministry, this performance is nothing short of “exceptional,” particularly as Morocco managed to attract an additional one million tourists within just four months. Officials emphasised that these figures reinforce Morocco’s standing as one of the most rapidly developing and appealing travel destinations on the global stage.
The month of April 2025 alone saw 1.7 million tourist arrivals—an impressive 27% year-on-year increase. This boost is particularly notable as it occurred outside the typical high tourist season, indicating a broadening of Morocco’s tourism appeal across the calendar year.
Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor credited this robust growth to the government’s strategic tourism roadmap, which focuses on long-term development and positioning Morocco as a competitive destination. “Welcoming one million additional tourists during what is usually a slower period is a strong sign of momentum as we look ahead to the rest of the year,” she noted.

Minister Ammor further highlighted that this achievement reflects the effectiveness of Morocco’s comprehensive tourism strategy, which aims to capitalise on the country’s distinctive cultural, geographic, and historical assets while also emphasising the importance of sustainable and inclusive tourism development.
