By virtue of variety, as well as advances in innovation, Morocco’s share in the red fruit sector in the global market is recording continuous growth. The Moroccan red fruit sector which includes strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, as well as other fruits and berries has overtaken Spain that has been a leader in terms of competitiveness. According to sources, the Moroccan variety excels in value for money when it comes to fresh produce.

Morocco exports more than 140,000 tons of red fruit annually to more than 40 countries, including the EU. The demand for the beautiful, sweet, crunchy, and juicy red fruits from Morocco is going up in Europe. Morocco has also stepped up its areas for cultivation.

According to AgriMaroc, an agricultural news site, the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region tops the list of leading producers of berries in Morocco, with approximately dedicated to red fruits.
Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture Aziz Akhannouch said that the total exports of fruits and vegetables showed an increase of 9% compared to the same season last year. Fruitful-Berries a new Dutch company is focused on the soft fruit range, particularly Moroccan cultivation.
In 2020, Morocco’s National Office for Food Health Safety (ONSSA)  received the approval from the US for the import of Moroccan raspberries.
