Energy and Mining sectors are the pillars of the economies of Morocco and Jordan, and both the countries are keen to join hands to enhancefurther their cooperation in the sectors. Moroccan Minister of Energy & Mines Aziz Rabbah and Head of Jordan’s Minerals Regulatory Commission Farouq Hiyari, met in Amman to explore areas of co-operation. Both the sides expressed keeness to adopt better regulations in the energy and mining sectors.
According to the official statement, both the sides agreed to share expertise in the fields of organisation, price monitoring and standards that should be adopted while granting licences in the energy and minerals sector. Such practices it was felt, would ensure energy security and high-quality services, with due regard to environment.Both the ministers exchanged notes on the structure of the energy and minerals sector and organisational frameworks followed in both countries.,
