Morocco is set to host GITEX Africa as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to establish itself as a regional digital hub. Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, announced this during a press conference in Rabat, emphasising the event’s significance for strengthening Africa’s position in the global tech arena.
Scheduled from April 14 to 16 in Marrakech, the 2025 GITEX Africa will focus on enhancing digital infrastructure, advancing artificial intelligence, and showcasing the latest technological innovations. One of the key highlights of this year’s gathering is the “Africa Future Connectivity Summit,” which aims to unite major players in telecommunications, cloud computing, and data centers. This summit will address crucial topics such as the impact of high-speed broadband, the rollout of 5G, and the importance of public-private partnerships in shaping Africa’s digital landscape.
Another notable feature of the event is the launch of the “Diaspora Studio,” designed to facilitate networking among African talents globally, promoting investment opportunities and fostering cross-border partnerships.
The event anticipates participation from over 1,400 companies and startups, a significant increase from the 400 participants in its inaugural edition. Visitor numbers, which exceeded 32,000 in the first GITEX Africa, are projected to surpass 45,000 in 2025, with attendees coming from more than 130 countries. The event will host over 650 government institutions, more than 350 investors, and over 660 speakers.

The 3rd GITEX Africa will spotlight high-impact technological sectors such as EdTech, AgriTech, HealthTech, and SportsTech, featuring sectoral panels and strategic partnerships aimed at integrating Africa into the global digital economy. Additionally, the ministry has introduced the second phase of the Morocco 200 initiative, which provides support for 200 selected Moroccan startups by covering 90% of their participation fees at GITEX.
Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, praised the significant momentum of Morocco’s technology ecosystem, highlighting the involvement of 300 local startups at this year’s event.
