The development allows access for Moroccan poultry products to the 27 EU Member States, with a market size of nearly 450 million consumers.

recent amendment to the legislation has included Morocco in the list of countries allowed to export poultry products to EU member countries.The notification was announced in the Official Journal of the European Union on June 30, 2022, and became effective from the date of the its publication.
The Cimmission approved Morocco’s application to export its poultry products after ensuring that Morocco’s poultry products duly conformed to the EU’s health regulations. The development allows access for Moroccan poultry products to the 27 EU Member States, with a market size of nearly 450 million consumers.
The EU’s delegation to Morocco observed that the geographical proximity of Morocco to Europe as well as the large economic size of the European market could be beneficial for the Moroccan poultry sector.
EU is rated as Morocco’s largest trading partner accounting for 56% of Morocco’s exports in 2019. Imports in the same year accounted for half of Morocco’s tyotal imports.EU-Morocco trade volume in 2019 stood at €35.3 billion.
