Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi said that his government would develop industrial zones that could evolve into industrial parks in Nampula, Manica, Zambézia, Sofala and Maputo provinces. President was on a visit to the province of Nampula recently, where the government is planning to undertake massive industrialization programs.
Filipe Nyusi inaugurated a factory with the capacity to process 14 tons of cashew nuts per day. Located in the Meconta district, Namialo administrative post, the processing center can give gainful employment to 400 workers when in full operation. He also visited and agro-industrial fair, where various products were exhibited. Most of the companies which exhibited their products and produces were from the province of Nampula. Nampula, after Maputo, has the second largest number of units in the manufacturing industry, with the Nacala Special Economic Zone standing out in this respect.
President also addressed a meeting on the agribusiness and industrialisation in the country, where he announced a number of incentives for the sector
