Mauritius is gearing up to reopen its borders for travelers from October this year. Only those fully vaccinated international travelers can avail this facility.
Those visiting with a valid PCR negative RT-PCR report that has been obtained 72 hours before their departure, can visit the island nation and explore the island freely without any restrictions from October 1, 2021.
Although the island nation partially opened from mid-July, only vaccinated visitors who are ready to stay in a ‘resort bubble’ for a minimum of 14 days were allowed to visit the island nation.
Director of Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) Arvind Bundhun stated that Mauritius was delighted to see the world opening up for travel again and added that the nation has been welcoming international visitors to the island nation since the middle of July. He revealed that the ‘resort bubbles’ have proven to be a great success.
Mauritius is looking forward to the next stage of reopening the borders, i.e., from October 1, when vaccinated visitors will be able to explore the island freely without any restriction right from the moment of their arrival. He also added that the safety and security of Mauritian residents, citizens and guests remains paramount.
