Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, visited two sites under construction viz the A1-M1 Link Road (Grand River North West Valley site) and the A1-A3 Link Road (Coromandel to Gros Cailloux) to inspect progress of work. These two projects are undertaken to decongest the city.

The A1-M1 Link Road is 1 km long dual carriageway to link Port Louis-St Jean Road (A1) at Chebel through 330 m long bridge through the GRNW valley to Motorway M1 and the existing Ring Road Phase 1 at Sorèze. The project is expected to cost Rs 2.79 billion and will be completed in January 2022. The government sources pointed out that 32% of the A1-M1 bridge has been completed, whereas 53% of works of Chebel and 51% Soreze have been completed..

The A1-A3 Link Road will connect the Port Louis-St Jean Road (A1) to the Black River Road (A3) and will provide a rapid link connection between the West and Port Louis/North and vice versa. Prime Minister Jugnauth said that the two major projects will link Soreze to Chebel and Chebel to Gros Cailloux and expressed satisfaction that works have progressed significantly although they have been delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic
