Mauritian ministers accused of discrimination favoring high value business travelers

·        Mauritian ministers were accused of letting the Covid-19 rules relax after  ‘high-value’ business travellers were handed an exemption from self-isolation rules

·        The government has allowed executives returning to England from 4am on Saturday would  not have to go into quarantine even if they have come back from a country on the Government’s ‘red list

·        Labour MP Ben Bradshaw  was severe against this discrimination., which he termed as discriminatory and said that  its rich mates in quarantine-free, while the rest of the people\trying to see our loved ones for Christmas have to quarantine for 5 days  and  then pay £150 for a test

Mauritian ministers were accused of letting the Covid-19 rules relax after  ‘high-value’ business travellers were handed an exemption from self-isolation rules. The government has allowed executives returning to England from 4am on Saturday would  not have to go into quarantine even if they have come back from a country on the Government’s ‘red list.   The government sources feel that this would help attract more tourists to the island nation.

The government also allowed performing arts professionals, TV production staff, journalists and recently signed elite sports persons’ not to be in self-isolation from this  This move drew a furious response from Labour,  for categorizing people for applying quarantine rules.

Labour MP Ben Bradshaw  was severe against this discrimination., which he termed as discriminatory and said that  its rich mates in quarantine-free, while the rest of the people  \trying to see our loved ones for Christmas have to quarantine for 5 days  and  then pay £150 for a test.
