The 59th edition of the Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM) kicked off on August 26 and will run until Sunday (September 1), at the Ricatla International Trade Fair and Exhibition Center, in Marracuene Municipali,ty, Maputo province, where the potential of different sectors of the national and international economy will be showcased.
According to the organizers, more than 3,300 exhibitors are expected, including 2,300 national companies, 26 country representations, 750 individual foreign companies and more than 65,000 visitors.
The director-general of the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEX), the organizer of the event, Gil Bires, assured that access to the fair had been improved and stressed that a private company had been hired to join the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM) to guarantee security at the venue.

Taking place under the slogan: “Industrialization: Innovation and Diversification of the National Economy”, FACIM 2024 seeks to promote exports as a way of capitalizing on the opportunities the country has in different markets, as well as opening up the possibility for national and foreign entrepreneurs to establish partnerships.
In this edition, APIEX wants the event to serve as a review of the opportunities for the internationalization of the economy and the private sector, especially Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country’s priority sectors, especially agribusiness, industry, mineral resources, energy, tourism and logistics infrastructures and corridors.
