Elcora, the Canadian Mining founded in 2011, has commenced manganese extraction in northern Morocco. The license was acquired through its subsidiary in Morocco, Ermazon.

A statement issued by Elcora stated that it has extracted Manganese piles onsite with an estimated 5,500 metric tonnes of Manganese ore. As an essential component for the global battery value chain, manganese has gained huge demand globally.  Speaking about the extracted manganese ore, Elcora CEO and President Troy Grant called it a significant milestone for Elcora and expressed confidence in the company’s capacity to produce high-quality battery metals and minerals to cater to the rising demand from the electric vehicle and energy storage sectors.

Elcora as of now has 17 licenses in Morocco.  The company launched its operations in Morocco in November 2021. Currently, the company’s assets in Morocco cover 304 square kilometers including copper and manganese research licenses. The Moroccan concessions boost the company’s ambition to become a global leader in battery technologies with both known metal deposits and untapped mineral sites.
