More than 25,000 tourists were registered in July 2023 in the country, it is certainly still far from the 34,000 arrivals of 2019, period before the Covid but encouraging for tourist operators. The months of July and August are the high season when tourists flock. October is also another round of high tourist season in the country. In October 2019, the country recorded 32,366 tourists against 22,023 in October 2022. The number of tourists should therefore start to rise again during this period.

The island of Nosy Be remains a key destination for foreign tourists with a 100% occupancy rate for the 2,000 hotel rooms available on the island. Nosy-Be has the advantage of being served by several airlines on direct flights from abroad.

The Ministry of Tourism is aiming for one million tourists by 2028. The ministry intends to draw up a new tourism code emphasizing sustainable tourism and evokes the prospect of concessioning eco-lodge in the parks. national, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development.
