Discover Airlines’ arrival brings the total number of international carriers operating to Seychelles to twelve, reflecting the nation’s resilience and continued growth despite global challenges.
Discover Airlines, a member of the Lufthansa Group, which inaugurated its direct flight from Frankfurt, Germany, to Seychelles. The milestone event was celebrated during an inaugural ceremony held at the Seychelles International Airport, hosted by the Seychelles Airports Authority (SAA) in collaboration with the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA).
The ceremony was graced by several high-ranking officials, including Mr Wallace Cosgrow on behalf of the government, Principal Secretary for Transport, Mr. David Bianchi, Principal Secretary for Tourism, Mrs. Sherin Francis, Acting Chairperson of the Seychelles Aviation Authority, Ms. Wendy Zialor, Chairman of the Seychelles Civil Airports Authority, Mr. Wilfred Fock Tave, CEO SAA Mr. Colin Chang-Tave, CEO SCAA Mr. Garry Albert and Chief Executive Officer of Discover Airlines, Mr. Bernd Bauer, among other dignitaries and members of the media.
Bianchi also praised the SAA and SCAA for their “strong operational preparedness and adherence to international standards,” ensuring the seamless integration of Discover Airlines into Seychelles’ aviation network.

He noted that Discover Airlines’ arrival brings the total number of international carriers operating to Seychelles to twelve, reflecting the nation’s resilience and continued growth despite global challenges.
The new service will operate two weekly flights between Frankfurt and Seychelles, on Sundays and Tuesdays, offering travellers greater flexibility in planning their holidays. The route will complement the operations of Edelweiss Air, another Lufthansa Group airline already serving Seychelles from Zurich.
