 According to data from the organization of gas-producing and exporting countries, LNG exports from Algeria are showing steady improvement. In the first eight months of the current year, the records mark a 22% improvement in the activity of LNG tankers leaving Algeria.

According to data from the organization of gas-producing and exporting countries, LNG exports from Algeria are showing steady improvement. In the first eight months of the current year, the records mark a 22% improvement in the activity of LNG tankers leaving Algeria.

During the same period, there was a substantial increase in shipments of goods from the United States (55), Algeria (31), and Norway (28), compared to the corresponding period in 2022, as to the destination of these shipments, the report in question did not provide any details. In July, LNG exports from the GECF’s member and observer countries reached 15.62 million tons, a 1.7% year-on-year growth equivalent to 0.26 million tons. This is mainly due to “Algeria, as well as Angola, Malaysia, and Mozambique. LNG exports have declined in Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Norway, Peru, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United Arab Emirates.

In fact, Algeria is working to improve its LNG production in the coming years to 22 million tons, up from 11 million tons now. It is therefore an optimization of production capacity of 30 million tons per year, with a fleet of six LNG tankers.

Transport remains an important factor in determining the final price of this fuel, as LNG tanker charter prices are known to increase significantly during this period of the year, according to GECF experts.
