The meeting also saw the participation of Russia and Turkey where a tentative plan to start withdrawing their foreign mercenaries from Libya was reached. Elections in Libya are expected to be held on 24 December.
Libya’s transitional leadership was joined at The conference was joined by foreign ministers from France and Germany, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia, Algeria and Italy. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and senior officials from Russia, the United Arab Emirates and others also attended the conference. Libyan Foreign Minister Najla al-Mangoush at the conference assured that the vision of the transitional government included how best to re-establish stability in Libya and pave the way for free, inclusive and safe elections on 24 December.
