Libya’s Real Estate Registry Starts Issuing Electronic Certificates

The Real Estate Registry Authority of Libya, affiliated with the Ministry of Justice, issued the first electronic real estate certificate in its history recently. The Authority confirmed that the electronic certificates at this stage only cover previous registrations.

This step is part of efforts to digitise services and keep pace with the digital transformation, to provide more advanced and easier services to citizens.

The Real Estate Registry Authority of Libya, affiliated with the Ministry of Justice, issued the first electronic real estate certificate in its history recently. The Authority confirmed that the electronic certificates at this stage only cover previous registrations.

It is worth noting that the Tripoli-based Libyan Prime Minister issued a decision in 2022 to reactivate the Real Estate Registry and accept the registration of lawsuits and final court rulings, after a hiatus that had lasted since 2011.
