Three Libyan olive oil producers earned prestigious accolades at the 2025 Athens International Olive Oil Competition, according to an announcement made yesterday by the Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC).
In its statement, the LEPC proudly highlighted the country’s growing global recognition, noting: “Once again, Libyan olive oil has secured a place among the highest ranks worldwide in terms of quality at the 2025 Athens International Competition.”
Among the honoured companies, Mishkah and Celine each received gold medals, acknowledging their exceptional product quality. The Mountain Olive Company was awarded a bronze medal, recognised specifically for producing one of the finest “excellent” grade olive oils. Furthermore, Mishkah distinguished itself further by earning a special award for the best olive oil of the Shamlali variety, a regional cultivar known for its unique taste and rich aroma.

This year marked the tenth edition of the Athens International Olive Oil Competition, which drew participation from 630 producers representing various countries around the world. The strong performance by Libyan companies highlights the country’s advancing presence and growing reputation in the global olive oil industry.
