The Misrata Chamber of Commerce reported recently that it had signed a cooperation agreement with the Indian Economic and Trade Organization (IETO) in Tunis. The signing was conducted by Fathi Al-Amin Al-Turki, Chairman of Misrata Chamber, and Asif Iqbal, Chairman of IETO.

This agreement, Misrata Chamber reported, aims to develop a framework of cooperation to enhance trade and investment opportunities for the members of the two parties. It reported that there is support from India to stimulate trade with African countries.

According to the Misrata Chamber, ‘the Indian side requested the signing of the agreement, because of the importance of Libya, as India has many activities and large investments in African countries, and it seeks to have the same activity with Libya.
