The “She Leads” project to support entrepreneurship for women in the cities of Tripoli and Sabha was launched at an event in the Old City, Tripoli.

The “She Leads” project to support entrepreneurship for women in the cities of Tripoli and Sabha was launched at an event in the Old City, Tripoli. The launch took place in the presence of the Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed Al-Reda, the Director General of the project, Sami Al-Alous, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Libya, representatives of diplomatic missions from Turkey, Malta, France, Germany, and the European Union Delegation to Libya.

Officials of small and medium enterprises at the Central Bank of Libya, the Director of the International Cooperation Office in the project, Abdul Gader Abu Shanaf, and the Director of the Office for Women’s Support and Empowerment at the Ministry of Labour, were also present.

The project, funded by the Dutch Government and implemented by French NGO Supernova in cooperation with the National Rehabilitation and Reintegration Project and several other entities, aims to train more than 80 women in entrepreneurship to facilitate their entry into the labour market.

The Minister of Labour stressed the importance of supporting women economically as a pillar to strengthen the national economy and provide decent living opportunities, stressing the need to adapt the specializations to the nature of the regions to which the trainees belong, and to adhere to national standards.‎
