The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez Al-Sarraj had a meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister Arancha González Laya in Tripoli. Both discussed wide ranging issues including cooperation in economic development and service sectors. Earlier, the Spanish minister had visited Tunisia and stressed the need for Tunisia and Libya having close economic cooperation as reported by www.trendsnafrica.com yesterday.
The Spanish Foreign Minister reiterated the support of her country for resuming oil production and exports. Spain also lends support to Libya for holding the election in time and said that the situation in Libya needs a strict stance by the international community so that the conflict can end in the country.
The Spanish Foreign Minister met with the Head of High Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri and GNA Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala. They discussed latest developments on the military and political levels as well as Tripoli war repercussions. GNA representatives said that Spain can play a useful role in pushing forward the political process to bring to an end conflicts in the region. The Spanish minister will also meet the Speaker of the House of Representatives in Tobruk Aqila Saleh.
