Hailing peoples’ verdict to elect him as the president of the kingdom, he promised to make Lesotho great again. The pro-business leader who will lead one of the poorest countries in the  has an onerous task ahead of him to bring back the country in the growth pathway. Lesotho has been in a recessionary trajectory since 2017.

Vowing to promote private sector in the country in a big way, the newly elected president said only through private investment the country can progress. Inability of the private sector to play its part in creating employment has strained the public sector, he added. Public sector does not have a dependable income, a situation which is likely to get worse. He also promised to reform a public service to make it more efficient, transparent, accountable, effective .and corruption free.
