Sudan’s Khartoum International Airport remained closed yesterday despite reports that the airport would soon reopen. No confirmation has come so far about the date of reopening of the airport. Reports from Cairo indicates that they have not received any notice about the reopening of the airport.

The airport was closed since Sudan’s military seized power on Monday. The coup has given a jolt to the country’s transition to democracy. Meanwhile, people are flocking to the streets voicing their concerns about military rule. In certain parts of the country, people chanted anti-coup slogans during a march on Wednesday.

There have also been rallies supporting military rule. But such voices are few and from very limited quarters, which pro-democracy people allege are motivated by the army officials.
