In a news conference on April 22nd, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced the death of Kenya’s former President Emilio Mwai Kibaki at the age of 90 .President Kenyatta succeeded him in 2013. Kibaki served as Kenya’s third president from 2002 to April 2013.He took over the president ship from Daniel arap Moi who was president from 1978 to 2002
Paying homage to the departed leader he said that the country will hold a period of national mourning until sunset on the day he will be buried. All flags will fly at half-mast during this period.
