Climate activists took to the streets of Kisumu, Kenya to protest against fossil fuel industries in their region. They called for policy changes to stop global warming that affects the ecosystems of the water bodies around them.

The group was part of the global protest that took place on Friday (19th April), calling for an end to global warming. Experts have highlighted the key climate change risk for Kenya as extreme events, in particular droughts and floods. Protesters explained how they had experienced untimely rains, floods, drought, and other vagaries. This has led to the displacement of people, also the destruction of property and businesses.
