President William Ruto and his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa stated that both leaders were examining the prospects on high priority to form a partnership between Kenya Airways and South African Airways.

Similar discussions had taken place between former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ramaphosa last year. Ramaphosa was quoted as saying that both leaders are committed to ensure that the agreement that was signed between the two airlines goes forward. He added that at the technical level a lot of work was being done.
