Kenya Airways has introduced KQSafari Data, a new international roaming service developed in collaboration with RoamBuddy, aimed at delivering dependable, cost-effective mobile connectivity for global travelers. The partnership was officially sealed through an agreement signed by Kenya Airways’ Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Julius Thairu, and RoamBuddy’s CEO, Mandeep Birdi.
The service originated from Kenya Airways’ Open Innovation Challenge and was refined by the airline’s Fahari Innovation Hub into a ready-to-market product. KQSafari Data addresses the common problem of expensive and unreliable international roaming by offering over 2,250 data plans across more than 180 countries. Travelers can choose from a variety of affordable packages—local, regional, or global—at significantly lower rates than traditional roaming services.
During the launch, Thairu emphasized the airline’s commitment to improving the entire travel experience, noting that passengers deserve a connected, worry-free journey. Birdi echoed this sentiment, underscoring the partnership’s role in redefining global connectivity for travellers.
